In Orlando, Florida, Madison Marsh, a distinguished U.S. Air Force officer and Harvard master’s student, has added another accolade to her impressive resume – she is now the 2024 Miss America. Notably, Marsh holds the distinction of being the first active-duty servicemember to clinch this prestigious title.
At the age of 22, Marsh graduated from the United States Air Force Academy last year with a degree in physics. Currently, she is pursuing her master’s in public policy at Harvard. Her noteworthy achievement was celebrated by the U.S. Air Force, referring to her as “our very own.”
During an interview with Miss America, Marsh shared her inspiring perspective, emphasizing that one can achieve anything. She urged others, stating, “The sky is not the limit, and the only person that’s stopping you is you.”
Delving into her background, Marsh founded the Whitney Marsh Foundation alongside her family after the loss of her mother in 2018. The foundation aims to raise awareness and funds to support research in the fight against pancreatic cancer.
The Miss America pageant featured a total of fifty-one contestants, each representing the 50 states and the District of Columbia. In this competitive lineup, Ellie Breaux of Texas emerged as the first-runner up, marking an impressive showcase of talent and achievement.
