A savvy mum has been praised by thousands of other parents online after revealing her recipe for ‘jellyfish spaghetti’.
Gennie shared images to the Instant Pot Community Facebook group and said she only used four ingredients – sausages, spaghetti pasta, Parmesan cheese and a homemade pasta sauce.
The food replicates the look of a jellyfish as the single strands of spaghetti are pushed through the chopped sausage pieces.
‘I’ve been doing this with kids since my eldest was three … he’s now 18 and my youngest is five,’ she wrote.
The meal only takes ten minutes to cook in a hot pot or 20 minutes in a regular stovetop pot.
Gennie said her children requested the dish for dinner, as the end result tastes delicious and is more exciting compared to a standard spaghetti Bolognese.
When making the dish, she advised to chop the meat thin enough to ensure the pasta inside the sausage cooks through.
As an alternative to sausages, meatballs or cheese balls can be used to make the dish.
More than 3,200 parents part of the online community ‘liked’ the post and dubbed the meal idea as ‘genius’ and ‘brilliant’.
‘What a fun idea! I am going to have to try it!’ one parent wrote.
‘I’ve never seen this before! Definitely going to make this this week with my kids,’ another said.
Some parents were concerned the meat would be a choking hazard, but Gennie said cutting the sausages into small sizes is ideal.
